How to do quick market research on Amazon step by step (procedure without software)
Although it does not give you the in-depth information you would have with our interactive market research, exploring Amazon without software gives you a general idea of the situation, the best-selling products of the moment, and the most searched words from a key term.

That said, here is how to do a “craft” search on Amazon without using dedicated software:
- Start by searching the search bar for terms representative of the type of product/category you are interested in
- Watch the suggestions Amazon gives you: if you enter a base word, the platform’s search engine suggests the most searched ones. Here is an example for the word “chair.”

- Observe in the upper left-hand corner the number of results to see how many products are competing in the target area.

- Use filters to find min/max prices for products.
- Observe the top performers and those who are sponsoring products.
- Open the tabs of top sellers and observe which sellers are in external logistics mode (FBM – Fullfilled by Merchant) or Amazon logistics mode (FBA – Fulfilled by Amazon). In the first case, you will find “Sold by (company name) and shipped by (company name),” while in the second case you will find “Sold by (company name) and shipped by Amazon.”

- Download and analyze reviews of top sellers to do a little competitive analysis: identify pros and cons of products, satisfaction factors, etc.
